Ordering from the Navy Exchange

Sometimes it is not possible for us to attain the correct uniform items of the correct size for cadets. The Navy Exchange service has a much better supply, but a regular commercial prices. Therefore, it is the source when all other options (Surplus Uniform Request, local Army/Navy, donated to 2745th uniforms, etc.) have been exhausted or non-issued items are desired.

Once the cadet has an identification card, they can get on base (Dobbins ARB) and visit & buy from the Post Exchange (PX) that is now the only one available. We are told that it will start to carry uniforms and other equipment. Often, small sizes are not available, but items such as belt buckles, hats, and shoes can usually be found.

If they do not have your size, they can order for you. Alternatively, you can order over the telephone. Since cadets are not registered with the Department of Defence, there are some special procedures in order to get permission to order via telephone.

1) Call 1-800-368-4088. Chose "Navy" and tell them that you are a parent of a Sea Cadet and need to order.

2) Following their instructions, you will fax the front & back of the (unexpired) ID card to 1-800-551-6289. The ID & photo may not fax clearly so it is a good idea to photocopy it using a light setting before faxing.

3) Shipping to Atlanta is 5-8 days free, 3 days $8.00, 1 day $10.00.
